Territorial Planning and Urban Design Section

The Territorial Planning and Urban Design Section is responsible for the planning and development of urban and rural areas, ensuring the efficient organization and use of space.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Urban planning and design: Developing and updating general and detailed urban plans, regulating the growth of urban and rural areas. This includes establishing regulations for construction, infrastructure, and land use.
  • Territorial planning: Organizing and managing land use across the entire territory, including rural and suburban areas, to ensure balanced, sustainable, and resource-efficient development. This also includes environmental protection and natural risk management.
  • Urban and construction regulations: Creating and monitoring the regulations governing construction and land use in urban areas. These regulations include building height restrictions, volumetric parameters, land use designation, and infrastructure requirements to ensure a functional and aesthetically pleasing urban environment.
  • Consultancy and approvals: Providing guidance to local authorities, individuals, and legal entities on urban planning and territorial development. The section also issues approvals and building permits, ensuring compliance with urban planning regulations.
  • Sustainable development management: Promoting urban and territorial development solutions that are sustainable in the long term, respecting ecological standards and energy efficiency while maintaining a balance between development and environmental protection.
